George and his team have done wonderful things for us over the past 7 years. The work ranged from modernizing a bathroom, revamping a kitchen, building a deck, paving a yard , totally gutting and installing a beautiful studio apartment in my dirt floor cellar. The last job he did for us was extending our house, changing the second bedrooms into a gorgeous 3 bedroom apartment and making my first floor apartment completely accessible. I can't say enough about the quality of the work that he does, his entire crew was extremely professional, neat, punctual, respectful and accommodating.I hesitate to make recommendations but as far as George and his crew - they are hands down terrific

It was two days before Christmas and the first time I was hosting the whole family in my home for the holidays when the sewer backed up into my finished basement! My good friends recommended that my first call after Roto Rooter be to Picasso! I did not hesitate and thank goodness he and his amazing crew came to the rescue. We live in a lovely but small house and we now have three kiddos so space to live is crucial. George and his team worked tirelessly each day for a little under two weeks. They were clean, self contained, respectful and efficient. They completely gutted the walls and waterproofed them, tiled the floors, painted the whole space, and gave it a real face lift! We were very lucky that George came in with a real sensitivity to the disaster we felt had happened in our basement. He never pressed us to do more than what we could handle but his suggestions on the details of the moldings and the painting really made a difference. He turned a terrible situation into a very positive one for our family. We now have a beautiful, bright, spacious play/guest area that people actually use! In addition, George really does care about his clients and he has gone to bat for us with the insurance company. He not just called to provide his labor and costs, he made it his mission to get as much money back for us as possible, even building a relationship with the insurance team in the process to ensure our successful return. We hope to have more business for George in the future once we find our next home. For now, he will be my first call if anything needs fixing or improving in my home! He should be for you too!

I found Picasso on Angie's List and I am forever grateful. I had it narrowed down to a few contractors based on the reviews posted and after careful consideration, we hired Picasso as their offer was the most aligned with our need and budget. We have a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Initially, we needed a new kitchen and bathroom but after seeing the quality of the work we also ended up making things a bit more contemporary by adding new doors and replacing the trim work. Thrilled to also share that Picasso gave us a huge break to renovate and refresh our crown moldings which was totally a last minute decision!!!! My husband and I were dreading the work especially since we have a young child and our space is limited as is. We were pleasantly surprised when work commenced and things were properly covered and sectioned off and we had adequate livable space. Not too mention, the workers were very polite and VERY clean. Other than the areas temporarily out of use, the rest of our space was totally livable. The walls and surfaces were properly prepped and not just coated with paint. Most importantly for people who live in NYC, Picasso was super professional dealing with our doorman and building staff and finished the work every day well ahead of the building time deadline for construction work. Throughout the project we had zero issues with the building and the workers complied with the building guidelines. We were well informed of what would be happening on a day to day basis and were given progress reports and checklists. This was a great way to communicate with us, lessen our anxiety for the outcome while we were able to celebrate each accomplishment daily!! My neighbors informed me that they were completely unaffected and inconvenienced by the construction which was a very big deal to us! We were very happy and excited! Everything is finished beautifully!! It ended up taking us 3 weeks from the first to the last day of work which was AMAZINGLY ahead of our deadline. What a brilliant decision was to go with Picasso!!!! The finished product is SUPERB!! It feels like a completely new place and we are thrilled with everything. The little things mattered as much as the big changes. Updating the doors and trim as well as our crown moldings ended up being an impressive compliment to the space. Both my husband and I are very busy professionals but we wanted to take the time to share our FANTASTIC experience with Picasso in the hopes of helping others like us in making this important decision. We were given everything that we had agreed on in the contract. The level of communication from the owner, and the professionalism and expertise of the crew were a wonderful bonus. We love Picasso!!!!Our home had suffered first floor destruction after Superstorm Sandy. The time and years were very difficult for us to make decisions on what to do to restore or remodel our home. We had repaired the minimum mostly structural damages but life happened. Soon it became years "occupying a house" and not "happily living in our home.We have known George for a long time, and knew the quality of work that his company did. Finally, we felt ready to take the plunge. After the first week we knew that we had made the right decision. The transformation was happening so quickly that it left us time to feel nervous. In fact, it was the opposite: we found ourselves fully engaged and excited about choosing color schemes and kitchen cabinetry. The house was cleaned each night that the crew left and set up for the work that would be completed the following day.Every step of the project we knew where we were at in the timeline, what was next and had the ability to ask for guidance when we needed to make tough choices. That took tremendous pressure off of what we had always feared about renovating. To have someone managing and producing results that we were able to be part of, yet knew everything was being done and on time! As parents and owners of a restaurant, the thought of updating our home has always quickly become an afterthought. After years of putting it on the back burner we found a short window of time after summer and before the holidays. George and his crew started with demolition and removal. We knew that we were in good shape after the first day of work. The crew moved quickly and orderly. We installed a new kitchen, new flooring and sheet rock throughout the main floor. Custom paint and trim work. We also did a master bath with tiles. We had a fire at our house and Picasso Expert Renovations was there the following morning helping to put our life back together. Picasso not only repaired the damage caused by the fire but also renovated our entire house in an amazingly short time. They did everything: new flooring, sheetrock, windows, doors, bathrooms, tiles, moulding, painting, etc. Since we were recovering from a fire, we needed a fast renovation and Picasso delivered. The Picasso team came in at full force and worked really hard every day. They are always on time and professional. Renovations are hellish at the best of times yet my husband and I tend to put ourselves through the pain every four to five years because we move so often. We are expats who have bought and sold homes in Canada, Belgium, Namibia, Malta and New York. Thankfully working with George from Picasso Expert Home Renovations was the best experience we've ever had. I found George on Angie's list where he got rave reviews. Even though he was more slightly expensive than our other quotes, we chose him because he guaranteed to complete the renovations within five weeks. Trust me, you DO NOT want renovations to drag out (it will bring you to the brink of divorce and/or destroy your sanity). The closest bid next to George was for a 12 week timeline, and the cheapest bid would have realistically taken six months.Our project was primarily cosmetic, but it was big. We purchased a three-story Victorian house in Brooklyn, built in 1899. George brought in his entire crew and he focussed solely on our project. This is one of his many strengths. Some general contractors don't show up for days while they work on other sites or they only leave a couple of guys at the house to work. Not George. We had 15 crew, each with their own expertise, moving through our home like clock work. The project was very well managed and there was no wasted time. George's crew skimmed walls; insulated walls in rooms they completely gutted; redid our kitchen and three full bathrooms plus a powder room (this included tiling walls, leveling and tiling the floors, replacing old plumbing pipes where needed, and in the kitchen putting in completely new cupboards and countertops); put up facia on the house's exterior where the wooden beams were getting too weathered; renovated the basement (this included sealing all of the inner walls, leveling/tiling the floors, putting in new windows, and drywalling); put up new lighting in all of our rooms; sanded and revarnished all of our 120-year-old floors; and painted the entire house inside and outside. The quality of their work was outstanding and I'm including photos of their work three years later (we are selling and are moving earlier than planned) so you can see how everything still looks like new.I can attest that George was true to his word and our remodeling was not only completed on time, but his crew did a beautiful job. I credit George's work for the fantastic response we enjoyed and the number of offers we received when selling our house. While at first George can seem over the top with his enthusiasm and opinion of his company, when you get to know him you'll find he's one of the most decent guys you'll ever meet. He has a good heart and truly cares about doing his best. He is loyal to his clients and is always there when you need him. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.
